Nikon NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 Reviews
Small and handy

I love the small size on a Z50-II and the 2.8 is nice. Some reviews said it’s noisy but it’s not bothering me at all. Now I want an 18 version for a 27mm equivalent length. An 18 f/1.8 so we’d have a budget Leica🙂

The image quality produced by this is very good wide open over the DX frame - it is a true compact camera if you pair it with the Z30. However, it focuses fairly slowly when the light condition is suboptimal - much slower than the 28mm f2.8. Given the 28mm f2.8 is much cheaper and not that much bigger, I will probably go for the 28mm unless you really care about the size. If you shoot on Full Frame, then the 26mm is more recommendable since the Image quality is definitely much better.

Does the lens cap go on when a filter is screwed onto the lens?
Asked by: Philipp
When using a filter on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 Lens, you will need a standard 52mm cap instead of the included slip on cap. I would recommend the Nikon LC-52B 52mm Snap-On Front Lens Cap: (BH # NILC52B MFR # 4244).

The thread on the Nikon NIKKOR Z 26mm f/2.8 Lens can support a step-up ring, like the Sensei 52-72mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring (B&H # SESUR5272).
