Sigma 14mm T2.0 FF High Speed Prime (ft) Overview

The enhanced 14mm T2 Fully Luminous FF High-Speed Cine Prime from Sigma combines the same high-quality optics and mechanics of its FF prime line with a cine-oriented design including Cooke/i Technology that provides lens metadata to assist in post and visual effects production. This 14mm prime with PL mount is a wider focal length in the series offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6 to 8K resolution, fully luminous lens markings in feet, and a T2 maximum aperture in a compact, lightweight form.

A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line makes it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors. The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Cine Prime lenses also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, and industry-standard 0.8 MOD gear pitch.

question

With this lens if I place it on my Red camera in a water housing can i purchase a screw in ND Filter? Or something can be clapped on the front?
Asked by: tim
When using the Sigma 14mm T2 FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount) you would need to use a dome port. So you would not be able to use a screw in ND Filter or use a clamp. You could get a ND gel filter and place it inside the dome.

Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm ...

Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm clamp on adapter ring doesn’t cover the gaps on left and right side. In other words, because the lens hood has the cut outs on the left and right side of the lens, the mattebox adapter ring isn’t deep enough to cover those gaps. So, you have to tape the openings each time you use this lens. Or, is there a better solution? A deeper adapter ring? It needs to remain at 95mm so that it’s easy to swap lenses.

So, the solution was to get one of these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1425861-REG/sigma_ac5900_clamp_on_ring_162mm_cor_11.html And then also get one of these: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1367819-REG/arri_k2_0015075_lmb_4x5_clamp_adapter.html But! it doens't work on the three stage matte box so you have to remove the third stage and then attach it. So, you have to decide whether it's worth it or if you just continue to apply gaffer tape each time. ;-)
