Now... in a way I do not have anything to write about that extender... And that is because you hardly know that it is there doing what it is supposed to do effortlessly without giving you even the slightest worry. It is there and yet it completely disappears which for an item like this I guess that is what you are looking for. So... go ahead, buy it and forget it...

I'm using this extender with the Leica 100-400 zoom with great results. Really excellent sharpness and tonal quality, considerably better than I expected. I mean, this combo is sharp!

Will the extender work with the Sigma 100-400mm lens?
No, this extender is only designed to work with Leica's Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400mm f/5-6.3 lens. While this adapter may fit the Sigma 100-400mm lens, any profile correction that is used with Leica's Extender L 1.4x will not be applied. This would be primarily color, contrast and light fall off.

Between the Sigma, Panasonic, and Leica version of this teleconverter, are there any noticeable differences in image quality?
Assuming you are using the Leica 100-400mm lens, the Leica Extender L 1.4x for Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400mm f/5-6.3 Lens will have the right profile correction for the lens. This would be primarily color, contrast and light fall off. Another brand teleconverter would not support that.
