The 15mm Rod Holder has a Hard Stop.

The 15mm rod has a hard stop which does not allow the rod to pass completely through. This is a deal breaker when needing to position the focus motor closer to the camera. This built-in hard stop makes this useless unless you know the focus motor must be placed farther out.

Doesn’t sit flat on some Nikon dSLRs, needs mate

I had two issues with this unusually compact focus rod mount. Firtstly, The build quality looks good. My gripes have more to do with compatibility and slight difficulty buying a complete solution. 1) it did not sit flat under my Nikon D7500 camera back. It is designed for a “thinner” back. There are two stabilizing lips at the front that, for a thick body, push the mounting screw all the way to the back. I had to add a spacer. 2) it only became clear upon arrival that I’d need to buy a mating “Arca” baseplate to connect to a tripod. I did.
