Purchased this about two months ago and after being impressed with initial unboxing, I was experiencing far too much play from the sliding platform on the rails. Left a review here feeling disappointed. Oben reached out to me to inquire and see if they could make it right. So they had me send my unit to their facility and they would inspect. They agreed there was too much play in the unit. I believe they repaired my unit, and it took a bit longer than anticipated but it's definitely improved and far more what I anticipated for critical macro adjustment, that I originally plan to use this unit for. The function is improved enough for me to come back here and amend my impressions. I also appreciate their effort to reach out and make it right. The one area I think that could be improved, is the rubber on the QR plate, it's not a 'grippy' as others I've used. It's minor quibble, I find I have tighten my camera to this QR plate a bit more. But definitely feel better about my purchase and this unit. I'm avid macro shooter, so this will get a lot of use. Thank you Team Oben.

Can I mount another 7 Inch rail on top instead of the 4 Inch rail to gain great side way movement? Thank You.

It is possible you can add a seven-inch rail on top of the Oben Macro Focusing Rail (Long). Make sure you secure the full focus rail, as it could tip over using a long top rail.
