This upgraded Minimax model features a redesigned spring system to accommodate the STABIL Light, which results in smoother support rope movement specifically designed for the 4.4 to 15.4 lb payload range. You can adjust the tension of the STABIL Light flexible support arm to match the weight of your rig, and you can also lock the support arm so it behaves like the original Minmax arm. A quick release system attaches your camera of choice to the arm, and an included carrying bag makes transport a breeze.

I've been using this with a Canon C300 Mark III and C70, and overall, I really like it. The biggest benefit is that it takes a lot of the weight off my arms. With a larger cinema camera, that makes a noticeable difference over the course of a shoot. It also makes me look much bigger, especially at smaller events. Honestly, sometimes it's almost too much. I've had people ask me to take it off because the whole setup feels like overkill for a smaller production. The tension is easy to adjust, although the adjustment is on your back, so you may need someone else to help you or you need to be reasonably flexible. You can also let the camera dangle from the support without really worrying about it, which is nice when you need to take your hands off the camera for a moment to switch a lens or get a small break. I typically use it with a C300 Mark III or C70. You can attach the ball screw directly to the top of the camera, or the top of the ring mount that I have for my gimbal. Both work well. And it makes you look like you know what you're doing, most the battle. The Good * Takes a significant amount of weight off your arms * Works well with larger cinema cameras * Easy to adjust * Camera can safely dangle from the support * Works with both my C300 Mark III and C70 - and comes with a few ball mounts to leave on cameras. * Can be used with a gimbal ring mount * Packs down extremely well * The travel bag is excellent The Bad It's expensive. And looks bulky sometimes for smaller things. And, honestly, I wish I had more opportunities to use it. For larger productions, longer handheld days, or situations where you're carrying a cinema camera for extended periods, it's a really useful piece of equipment. But for smaller events, it can feel like you're showing up with a tank to a knife fight. Verdict I like it. It's expensive, but it does what it's supposed to do, and the reduction in arm fatigue is very noticeable. The fact that the entire system folds up so nicely into the included travel bag is another big plus. My biggest issue isn't really with the product—it's that I wish I had more opportunities to use it. But now that I own it, I'm going to keep looking for situations where it makes sense. When the job calls for a C300 or C70 on your shoulder for hours, having this support makes a difference. The reason I got it was I noticed my footage was shaky due to tired arms, this helps 'stabilize footage' by letting your arms not need to take as much of the weight.

This would depend on the weight of your monitor and the total combined load of the whole rig. The Easyrig Minimax STABIL Light Support System with Quick Release Hook can support up to 15.4 lb. The Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 Digital Cinema Camera (B&H # BLURSAMPG2) weighs 5.1 lb and the DJI RS 3 Pro Gimbal Stabilizer (B&H # DJRS3P) weighs 2.5 lb, so the vest could still support around an additional 7 lb of weight.

Can I use this with a DSLR?

The Easyrig Minimax has a load capacity between 4.4 to 15.4 pounds. This is perfect for a DSLR Rig which is in that range. A rig will be necessary as you will need a top handle over the DSLR to use with the Minimax. For further assistance feel free to email us directly at [email protected].

If you have to jump in a car to film, can you keep the EasyRig on you?

The Easyrig Minimax with Quick Release would not work well inside vehicles. I'm sure it would need to be removed and stored first. However if there is a sunroof you could stand in. Or used a Pickup truck bed to stand in, either of these locations would provide sufficient room.

I ordered this Easyrig. It is very handy. But now I need a Stabilizer. I am consider the DJI Ronin SC 2. My camera is the Panasonic Lumix GH5s with a Smallrig cage. Can I attach this camera with the cage to the Ronin SC 2 so that I can attach the quick release ball studs?

If you are asking about the compatibility of the quick release system of this stabilizer with that of the DJI Ronin RSC 2, they employ different quick release systems which are, unfortunately, not compatible.
