ARRI ZMU-4 Overview

Control the zoom function of your cinema camera via wired or wireless connection using the ARRI ZMU-4 Zoom Control Basic Set, thanks to its onboard ports and radio module interface. Combine the ZMU-4 with other LBUS control devices like the OCU-1 and Master Grip handles. Its slim, ambidextrous design makes it easy to attach to your camera rig or hold in your hand. The included RF-EMIP Radio Module facilitates wireless 2400 MHz connection with up to 14 channels.
Connectivity and Control Interface
The unit features a 4-pin LEMO port for LBUS control with compatible ARRI ALEXA cameras and lens motors, and it can even daisy-chain units together. A 7-pin LEMO port offers control of third-party camera systems like Canon and RED models. Onboard control buttons like a force-sensitive zoom knob work in tandem with the TFT display to easily set parameters. Perform software updates with the USB-C port and power the unit using the wired camera connection, an NP-F550/750 battery, or a proprietary ARRI LBP-3500 battery pack.
Wired and Wireless Control
The ZMU-4 includes an RF-EMIP radio module with 2400 MHz frequency and 14 channels. The RF-EMIP is backward compatible with white-coded radio EMIP modules. It easily installs into the recessed slot on the ZMU-4. The ZMU-4 eliminates the need for a radio interface adapter to keep your camera build streamlined.
Wireless Expansion for Compatible Devices
When paired with an ARRI radio module, the ZMU-4 acts as a wireless connection for LBUS control devices like the ARRI OCU-1 control unit or Master Grip handles for expanded, multi-axis FIZ control. Included in the basic set are two rosette adapters to facilitate the connection of those devices to the ZMU-4.
Innovative Display, Intuitive Controls
An easy-to-read TFT display and onboard button controls make for a user-friendly zoom experience. A force-sensitive joystick and run/stop button with a tally light engages your pre-set zoom protocols with ease. The display shows your exact focal length at any point within your zoom range, the speed of the zoom, and the remaining battery power. You can even set markers and limits for individual shots, all within the ZMU-4 interface.
Configurable Camera Control
When connected to a compatible camera unit, three user buttons can be customized for specific camera function shortcuts for the operator. Two zoom buttons can increase or decrease your movement's overall speed. They are positioned right by your index finger for an easy-to-reach experience.
Flexible Power and Mounting Options
When plugged into your camera, the ZMU-4 can run off plug-in power. In wireless configurations, a built-in L-series battery slot can accept a single Sony NP-F550/750 battery or the ARRI LBP-3500 battery pack for more consistent power delivery. With the LBP-3500 and the RF-EMIP radio module, the ZMU-4 can run for 15 hours for long shoot days. The ARRI batteries also allow the unit to display its power status for efficient battery management. Two rosette mounts on either side of the unit make attaching the unit to your preexisting rig a breeze.

The quality of the Arri ZMU-4 is tough to understand until it's in your hand. The build quality and intuitive ECS complete system is in a class of it's own.
