Going from the built in mic on my MacBook Pro to this is night and day. This is my first dedicated external mic and I am very pleased.

Defective Mic

I really wanted to love the CM-15 - from the testing I was able to do, the mic sounded incredible and the tiny form factor was great (though an OEM windscreen or pop filter would have been appreciated) Unfortunately - of the two units I tried, both had issues with the gain select switch. The first one only worked at all on gain '0' and the second that I tried sounded great on gain '0' and 'I' but there was an issue on gain 'II' - it would sometimes sound great and sometimes sound incredibly distorted and choppy.
