Apogee Electronics sets a new standard with the flagship Symphony I/O Mk II 16x16 Special Edition Dante and Pro Tools HD, an audio interface that features the latest and greatest conversion technology from Apogee for ultralow latency, noise, and distortion. Loaded with the updated 16x16 SE AD/DA conversion card, this interface sports 16 channels of analog balanced I/O on four DB-25 connectors, plus S/PDIF I/O for high-resolution sampling from 44.1 to 192 kHz.
On this interface, you also get two RJ45 Dante ports for easy integration with Dante audio networks, and a Mini-DigiLink Port with Loop Sync I/O for use with Pro Tools HD/HDX systems. Like all Apogee Symphony I/O Mk II units, the 16x16 SE is a modular interface, allowing you to expand as you go for a maximum of 32 analog inputs and outputs, as well as numerous other optional modules for different configurations that will suit any application. Control is easy via the bright front-panel touchscreen and the convenient Symphony I/O Monitor Workflow software. This unit includes an AC power cord to get you started.
- Ideal for powerful audio-over-IP applications in postproduction, broadcast, live sound, or recording studio networks
- Uses Audinate's Dante Brooklyn II module, which sports two Dante ports and plug-and-play media networking for up to 32 bidirectional channels at 96 kHz or 16 bidirectional channels at up to 192 kHz
- Pro Tools HD peripheral port allows Mini-DigiLink connectivity to your Pro Tools HDX, HD Native, or Core/Accel system for up to 32 bidirectional channels at up to 192 kHz (I/O modules available separately)
- Allows routing between Pro Tools, Dante, and modules
- Works seamlessly with any other Dante-powered devices
A high-resolution TFT display delivers all the visual feedback critical for recording and monitoring. Without looking at your computer, Symphony I/O Mk II lets you see metering for up to 64 channels of I/O, 32 inputs x 32 outputs, as well as signal levels, polarity, muting, phantom power, and Soft Limit.
And with Symphony I/O Mk II’s new Monitor Workflows, you can effortlessly configure and operate your monitoring system for Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and other immersive audio systems with control of up to 32 speaker outputs.
This newly designed high-current, low-impedance circuit is capable of driving virtually any input with absolutely no decrease in performance, regardless of the load presented by the connected gear. This becomes especially important when connecting vintage gear with difficult load impedances and elevated operating levels, sometimes over long cables—Symphony I/O MK II maintains fidelity and punch through it all.
