The Nikon MB-N12 Power Battery Pack does make the Nikon Z8 slightly larger than the Nikon Z9. In terms of weight it is very comparable, even though I did not have a chance to compare the weight with using a scale. Holding it on the hand offered similar weight.

Does it charge the two batteries simultaneously or does one battery starts to charge after the other is fully charged?
Unless they radically changed ,It charges them serially, A first, then B. I've found these battery packs to be useful in the sense that you've always got a spare, but they discharge one-at-a-time, so you're really just using A until it runs out then flips over to B. Serially charging and Serially discharging, powering the camera. After having had the MB-N10 for my Z7ii, I'm still in sticker shock over the price of these newer battery packs. Plus SmallRig has discontinued rigs for the MB-10, and I'm thinking I may not really need the battery packs at all because they really don't discharge the two batteries in parallel, so what's the point in having it in the first place. You're really just carrying a spare tire around hoping you'll need it, but really a spare in your bag or pocket will be less expensive and less weight.
