My case is just 2 years old and leather pieces are flapping in the wind. I haven't minded the battery-only accessibility. But the adhesive keeping the pieces together has just given up.

This is a fantastic case. Great fit and finish. Very impressed. Opens up to access the battery and there is a pouch to hold an extra SD card. I know it blocks the SD card slot, and USB access port, but I haven't had to take off the case frequently given that I transfer all my files via Leicafotos app and use the external battery charger. I'm sure I will take off the case once in a blue moon, but that is not so bad. Overall, excellent choice to protect the camera and also enhances the look.

Hello no, that's not what I'm taking about. I'm not taking about a ring separation tool. I'm taking about a black plastic washer similar to the size of a quarter with about a .25 in hole in the middle that came with the half case... not a strap.
