It charged one battery successfully. On the next battery, it seemed to charge, but then it ended up mostly draining the battery. When trying to charge it again, the indicator lights flashed as if the battery was completely empty (while the battery reported two bars) and the battery didn’t charge. I thought I could get by for a little while without the more expensive chargers but this thing is junk. I’m glad the Inspired Energy style batteries have good built in protection because I don’t trust this charger at all. USB-C is convenient but with the proper chargers (which take 24v input) I’ll just use a USB-C PD to 20v DC cable combined with a boost converter or something like that for mobile recharging.

Does this item negotiate with USB PD chargers to use the correct voltage and amperage even if the charger could provide above 45w?
Asked by: Trent
The Deity Microphones DQC1 Smart Battery Charger will work with USB‐PD chargers that can supply more than 45 W, but it will not “negotiate” to use a different voltage/current than the supported standards; it will simply accept the voltage you connect and limit itself to its maximum supported current and power.
