No, the Plus Ve only uses the E Release firmware protocol. It will work with any PocketWizard that can be upgraded to the E Release, using the same firmware. The Plus II radios are Legacy only and cannot be upgraded. The PlusXe and PlusX can be used with your Plus II.

What cable will be necessary to connect to remote Nikon digital cameras? Will the receiver keep the camera awake? PTMM cord?
Asked by: Dale
The PocketWizard Plus Ve Transceiver (2-Pack) has the same 3.5mm port as the previous models. If your Nikon camera has a 10-pin remote connection, you will need this cable: PocketWizard N10-ACC-1 Remote Camera Cable with PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter Kit (1'), BH # PON10ACC1K (https://bhpho.to/3MAmwRk). And for the DC-2 port, you will need this cable: PocketWizard N-MCDC2-ACC-1 Remote Camera Cable with PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter Kit (1'), BH # PONMCDC2ACCK (https://bhpho.to/4qwaFlt).

Will these new pocket wizards work with Sony alpha models
Asked by: Walter
Yes, they can be used in a Sony hot shoe to trigger a remote flash in manual power, up to X-sync. They can also be used to trigger a remote Sony camera, as long as you have the correct remote camera cable. Note: there are a couple Sony models that do not have an external remote port. They cannot be triggered by PocketWizard radios though you can trigger a remote flash from the hot shoe.
