Perfect fit. Lightweight. Adds to the grip of your camera. Main reason I got this, the QD socket. I love this carry connection as opposed to Peak Design because I don't like the dangles on the camera when you remove a Peak Design strap. I know that's pretty picky but I simply prefer this cleaner connection. Highly recommended!

Does everything it says. Fits well. My pinky has a grip now. Doesn't tip down with large lenses as easily. Thought I wouldn't like the flip out latch for the battery compartment, but has a nice movement, and kind of feels cool. Use a dummy battery with it for timelapses, and works fine. Only thing I don't like is the logo, but I guess at this price, they need to put their name somewhere.

Any chance this fits the a6600?

No, the Sony a6700 Mirrorless Camera (B&H # SOA6700) is slightly larger than the Sony a6600 Mirrorless Camera (B&H # SOA6600). The SmallRig Baseplate for Sony a6700 will not work with the a6600. There is this half cage alternative that has an Arca-Type baseplate, which would work with the a6600: SmallRig Half Camera Cage for Select Sony Alpha Series Cameras (B&H # SM4337) https://bhpho.to/3uIElEK

how do I take off the battery door on the A6700 and attach to this baseplate?
Asked by: john
The SmallRig 4338 has a moving "hinge arm" section that when rotated allows for battery door opening, and for replacement of the battery while the baseplate is attached to the a6700.
