Ideal for portrait, product, fashion photography, and more, the GVM Quick Release Portable Softbox measures 24" and features integrated locking rods that quickly lift and snap into place so you're ready to shoot in a fraction of the time it takes to set up a conventional softbox. While the 16-sided shape of the softbox imparts a wraparound light quality, its depth gives it a somewhat sharp falloff that makes feathering and directional control easy. For further directional control, an optional fabric grid is included to narrow the beam and minimize light spill. Other handy features include a silver interior to maximize output for a dramatic and punchy light, and removable front and inner diffusers so you can regulate the softness and contrast. Great Softbox—Quick Setup And Beautiful Soft Light
I’m Really Impressed With The GVM 24" Portable Quick Release Softbox. The Quick-release Mechanism Makes Setup Incredibly Fast—literally Just Pop It Open And It’s Ready To Go. It’s Much Easier To Work With Compared To Traditional Softboxes That Require Rods. The Light Quality Is Excellent: Soft, Even, And Flattering For Both Product Shots And Portraits. The Build Feels Solid, The Diffusion Material Is Good, And The Size Is Perfect For Small To Mid-sized Setups. It’s Lightweight And Easy To Carry, Which Is Great For Location Shoots. Overall, This Softbox Delivers Great Performance And Convenience. Highly Recommended For Anyone Using GVM Or Bowens-mount Lights!
Nice and easy to fold/set-up.
I bought this to use with my GVM Pro SD650 light and found only one issue. The adapter plate (Bowens mount) has four screws, and one has a knob to lock/unlock the plate. This knob protrudes too far out and get into contact with the light body making it impossible to snap it in place. I replace that screw with a regular one and works like a charm. I am sure I am not the only one having this issue - easy fix. While searching for this softbox I have seen comments about the mount not working with the light.
