Offering a powerful combination of high-quality sound and user-friendliness in a compact and portable format for recording, podcasting, and streaming, the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 (4th Generation) 4-in / 4-out USB-C audio/MIDI interface lets musicians and creators capture high-quality audio with no learning curve no matter where they go. The 4th Generation model features new ultra-low-noise microphone preamps with up to 69 dB of gain to capture the full potential of your mics. The upgraded, 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA converters provide a huge dynamic range up to 120 dB, matching the quality you'd find in a pro studio. The new Auto Gain mode automatically sets your recording level, and the Clip Safe mode automatically prevents your signal from clipping, ensuring that every take is a keeper. The Loopback feature lets podcasters, gamers, YouTubers, and streamers mix audio from other apps running on the computer, with the audio being recorded through the interface. Traditional 5-pin MIDI I/O is provided for seamless integration of MIDI equipment. The 4i4 4th Generation can now work in standalone mode without a computer, useful for live performances or monitoring-only situations.

Yes, the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 USB-C Audio/MIDI Interface (4th Generation) can be used with the included USB-C to USB-A adapter attached to the USB-C to USB-C cable, or you can use a USB-C to USB-A cable, which is available separately. The USB version for the 4i4 is USB 2.0, so compatibility will not be a problem.

Will this model work with iPad Gen 9 with lightning connector using a lightning to USB-C adapter?
Asked by: Daniel
According to Focusrite, "The Scarlett range of audio interfaces is class-compliant. This means that they can use the core audio driver built into iOS. We do not officially test or support bus-powered Scarlett interfaces with iPads or iPhones using a lightning connection, however, we expect them to work."

Can this be powered by a single USB-C connection to a laptop? Why is there a separate 5V DC port (not on 3rd gen)?
Asked by: Billy
Yes, the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 USB-C Audio/MIDI Interface (4th Generation) can be powered by a single USB-C connection to a laptop. The separate USB-C port allows for additional power to be supplied to the interface when using the 4i4 (4th Generation) with mobile devices like the iPad Pro or the iPhone 15.
