Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Reviews

Perfect lens for Canon APS-C mirrorless

By Jeff
Rated 5 out of 5

I used Sigma lenses on my Canon 60D for many years, along with Tamron and Canon lenses, and always had a soft spot for Sigma as they are extremely well built and well designed. This lens is possibly my top choice for the Canon R10. Over the years I have moved from event photography to landscapes, and this tiny lens is so fantastic for travel that the Canon equivalent is not even in the same league. It weighs almost nothing, features a constant f/2.8 aperture, and provides wonderfully consistent colors with very little aberration, all of which is easily fixed in post. It is very cheap for what it is.

Maximum fun lens

Ultra Wide angle, high level of fun lens. Great for shooting photos at parties, car shows, and parked aircraft at Air shows and such. Landscapes and great close-ups too. Buy it. You will be happy you have a camera to put it on. Sony a6700.

The Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E), BH #SI101828SE is made for Sony E mount APS-C cameras. So while it will work on the Sony Alpha a7R II Mirrorless Digital Camera, it will crop and have a loss of quality.

Does this lens work for a Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 4k? Which mount would I choose?
Asked by: Mason
No, the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E, Leica L, FUJIFILM X) mounts are not compatible with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (B&H # BL4KPKCAM).There are no adapters for the camera and lens mounts. I would suggest this lens as an alternative, which is compatible with the camera: the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. Lens (B&H # PA81828LDG).

Asked by: Jack
The Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E) is compatible with the Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ Sony E-Mount Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Autofocus Adapter (BH #MEETZ21PROP). When paired with the Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ / the Nikon Z50 II Mirrorless Camera (BH #NIZ502), the Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens (Sony E) will fully cover the camera sensor, autofocus will work normally, and lens data will be transferred to the camera.
