Pyle Pro PMAX4 Overview

When you need a simple and affordable line mixer for streaming, DJing, and podcasting on the go, look to the PMAX4 from Pyle Pro, a 4-channel wireless streaming line mixer with Bluetooth 5.0 support built-in, providing reliable wireless streaming from iOS and Android mobile devices at distances up to 50'. Each of the four ultralow noise, high-headroom input channels sport dedicated level control and a switch for either mono or stereo input via its 1/4" jack, and a single stereo 1/4" output is available for analog output.

Power is delivered via the included 5 VDC power adapter or a direct USB-C connection to a host device. The USB-C connection also makes it easy to perform stereo audio recording and playback to and from a host device. The metal chassis is rugged and compact, making it ideal for portable productions. This mixer includes a USB power adapter and a USB-C cable.

Can this mixer RECEIVE a sound signal via bluetooth from a source (e.g., a phone)? Or does bt only send out? Or both ways?

Yes, the Pyle Pro PMAX4 4-Channel Compact Streaming Line Mixer with Bluetooth has a built-in Bluetooth receiver, so it can receive audio input signal from a smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device, but it cannot send audio out via Bluetooth.

If you connect a stereo TRS input, and then select 'mono' with the switch, what is the result? (Only left? Sum? Short together?)

If you connect a stereo TRS cable to an input on the Pyle Pro PMAX4 4-Channel Compact Streaming Line Mixer with Bluetooth and then select the 'Mono' button, the result is mono.

When the mono button is down, does it short the tip and ring of that channel input?

If you connect a TRS cable to an input on the Pyle Pro PMAX4 4-Channel Compact Streaming Line Mixer with Bluetooth and select 'Mono' for that channel, it effectively becomes a TS input.

Does it sum both channels when set to mono? (As opposed to: only left? Only right? Or maybe it shorts the signals together?)

Per the MFR, the Pyle Pro PMAX4 4-Channel Compact Streaming Line Mixer with Bluetooth does not sum the mix to mono. There is a switch on each input to toggle between mono/stereo operation for that channel only.
