Meike MK-EFTZ-C Reviews

Disappointed

I bought the Nikon ZR and wanted to use my EF lenses. But it wasn't a good choice. The AF focus simply doesn't work. The performance is very bad and definitely doesn't focus on the image. I started using all lenses in manual focus mode. I updated the camera and adapter firmware, but I was unsuccessful. I have already tested with Canon EF 24-70mm L 2.8 II, 70-200mm 2.8, 135mm f2, 28mm 2.8, sigma 50-150mm 2.8 lenses. None of them worked. I would love to solve this and be able to use these wonderful lenses in this incredible camera. Today I would say that I regret having purchased this adapter.

Works Great With Nikon ZR

Tested With Nikon ZR With Several Canon Lenses. Works Great Including Aperture Control And AF Tracking. Canon 50mm F/1.4 Canon 85mm F/1.8 Sigma Art 24mm F/1.4 Canon 85mm IS F/1.4 So Far All Lenses Worked. Need To Select The Auto Focus Mode After Putting The Adapter On.

I have a Breakthrough Photography vND filter that was made for the Canon EF to RF ND adapter, it doesn't have an audible click like the Canon adapter, but it fits in this adapter and works great. The Meike vND has a little bit too much vignette when full stopped down on the ZR.

I have tested with the ZR with this over the course of 2 shoots, it has worked for a canon 24-70 f2.8 lens to ZR body with variable ND. I did not test autofocus thoroughly, though it seems to work. Aperture control is good. You have to update the firmware for it to work with the ZR, otherwise you get camera errors. Updating the firmware is clunky. I recommend going to Meike's website and doing your homework first - for some reason modern Mac computers won't work. Also, the filters that come with it are ok, but cheap feeling. Breakthrough Photography make higher end filters that fit this unit. I recommend their VND - the clear that comes with the Meike should be fine for a clear option.
