The SC-830 Candela PhoRad Photometer from Spectra Cine is designed specifically for radiologists and radiographers in the field of quality assurance (QA) applications and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). It provides precise, accurate, and repeatable reading for complete control of the lighting condition under which radiographs and images are viewed and interpreted. The SC-850 provides the widest dynamic range ever seen in a hand-held photometer, capable of measuring luminance levels ranging from as low as 0.01 cd/m² and nits to as high as 1,000,000 cd/m². This wide range ensures accurate measurement of both dark grey images and bright white images, making it ideal for calibrating displays and projectors. In addition to its impressive dynamic range, the SC-850 can also measure the viewing room's ambient background illumination, with a cosine corrected diffuser, in lux and foot-candles (in accordance with industry standards). This feature helps optimize image contrast, leading to improved image interpretation and safety from misdiagnosis.
This compact device has a large 2.8" backlit color LCD touchscreen with a user-friendly interface for getting fast and easy results. It includes a calibrated luminance probe for measuring surface luminance of display screens and a cosine-corrected photo disc for ambient light measurements. This device operates on three AA batteries and has a USB-C port for using the separately available Spectra Power Bank for continuous operation applications.
- Calibrated luminance probe for measuring surface luminance of display in cd/m² and nits or foot lamberts
- Cosine-corrected photo disc for ambient light to measure in Lux and footcandles
