Key Features
  • 2.8" Color Touch Screen, Backlit
  • Memory Stores up to 10 Measurements
  • Runs on 3x AA Batteries
The SC-850 Candela PhoRad Photometer from Spectra Cine is designed for radiologists and radiographers in the field of quality-assurance applications and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). Offering precision, accuracy, and repeatability, the SC-850 provides complete control of the lighting conditions under which radiographs and images are viewed and interpreted. Its wide dynamic range allows luminance levels ranging from as low as 0.01 cd/m² and nits to as high as 1,000,000 cd/m² to be measured. This wide range ensures accurate measurement of really dark-gray images and also bright-white images, making it ideal for calibrating displays and projectors. In addition to its impressive dynamic range, the SC-850 also measures the viewing room's ambient background illumination falling on the viewer's surface with the cosine-corrected diffuser, in lux and footcandles, in accordance with the new standards. This feature helps optimize image contrast, leading to improved image interpretation and reducing the chance of misdiagnosis.

Application
The SC-850 is designed to measure light intensity in medical diagnostic imaging displays, film viewing boxes, image monitors, and collimator light fields, among others. The photometer provides direct readings in candelas per squared meter (cd/m²) and nits.
Dynamic Range
Measures from 0.01 cd/m² and nits to 1,000,000 cd/m², allowing accurate measurement of a wide range of luminance levels. Provides illuminance measurement with cosine corrected diffuser in lux and in footcandles.
Compliance
The instrument complies with the guidelines and standards set by the Federal Drug Administration, American College of Radiology (ACR), the American Cancer Society, and the European community of radiologists. In accordance with the standards outlined in the ASTM E-1742/E1742M-18 Standard Practice for Radiographic Examination.
