This lens will need a screw on filter. Something like this would be good! https://bhpho.to/2XjFSAA

What does the SE stand for?
Asked by: Susan
SE stands for Special Edition. The Nikon 28mm f/2.8 NIKKOR Z Lens (SE) inherits its design from the classic NIKKOR lenses released around the same time as the Nikon FM2 film SLR camera, with features that faithfully reproduce the designs of that time, such as knurling, and a prominent control ring.

Is the mount plastic? It looks like it is - all black mounts from Nikon have been plastic. I would hope a full-frame lens from Nikon wouldn't use a plastic mount.
Asked by: Matt
Compact & pancake lenses can get away with using a plastic mount because theyre very light and short, creating a negligible torque moment on the mount. This reduces wear on the bodys lens mount and improves its lifespan as well. Heavier, longer lenses need metal mounts. Be glad all lenses dont.

Asked by: robert
If I'm not mistaken, any FF Z camera can be set to crop to a DX format if desired, either to use a DX lens or simply to switch to a DX crop with an FX lens.
