It surprisingly works without a hitch. In the past I've always stayed away from dummy batter power cables for my Sony A7SIII because all the reviews I had read up until this were not good. Before using it, I ordered a replacement door with the divot so when the battery is installed, the cable is not pinched. It's to bad that B&H does not carry this type of replacement door. I ordered it from Amazon. As soon as I installed it the battery icon on the display showed "100%". I used the camera at home for about 2 hours without any issues. I'll only use it when I have the camera on my DJI RS3 Pro Gimbal.

Bought this for use with my Sony A7C and I have not had any problems. I use this on every video shoot with my V mount and I have no complaints!

Yes, the SmallRig D-Tap to Sony NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery Power Cable would work and support powering the SONY the ILCE-7M5/B (A7V) camera.
