Viltrox DC-550 Overview

The lightweight DC-550 5.5" HD Monitor from Viltrox lets you view your camera's image on a bright, sharp 5.5" display. The DC-550 supports up to 4K30 video input and can send the signal through an HDMI loop-through output. This model features one brightness histogram, one parade waveform, a cooling fan, and 1200 cd/m² brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use.

The DC-550 features a 1920 x 1080 display that supports live view from your camera, and it provides image tools such as peaking, color temperature, tone, pixel-to-pixel zoom, brightness, and contrast. You can monitor the audio via its built-in speaker or 3.5mm headphone port. At the rear of the monitor, a built-in L-series battery plate enables you to power the monitor with the L-series battery, or you can power it with a separately available AC adapter.

Just what I was looking for. Compact, but big enough to see. Handles the harsh lighting of theater spaces. Good image. Pretty solid. Able top adjust placement quite easily. All for a lower price.

This monitor is excellent for the price. I would honestly expect it to cost more. Brightness is great for outdoor shooting (which is my primary setting). The built in sunshade is really cool as it doubles as a screen protector for travel. This monitor is packed with plenty of functions.

No, the Viltrox DC-550 5.5" HD Monitor will not produce a signal to the monitor when your camera is set in 4k60.

Will this Viltrox monitor record video that includes the settings in my camera view finder like shutterspeed, iso and histogram?

No, the Viltrox DC-550 5.5" HD Monitor is not capable of recording. If you want a monitor that can record, I recommend the Atomos Ninja 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor (BH #ATNINJA). To record the display overlays you would have to make sure your camera has the ability to output display overlays via HDMI.
