Brother TN830 High-Yield Black Toner Cartridge

The high yield toner cartridge produced about 500 sheets of paper. Most of those pages one paragraph. So now I must buy a cartridge for each ream of paper? Quite the rip off.

I’m very disappointed with the Brother TN830XL toner cartridge. It claims a yield of up to 3,000 pages, but that has not been my experience at all. I very seldom use my printer — maybe twice a week — and this cartridge only lasted 185 days. Based on the amount of paper I actually printed, it didn’t even come close to a third of the advertised page count. For a cartridge marketed as “high yield,” I expected much better longevity and value. Instead, it feels overpriced for what you actually get in real-world usage. I’m also frustrated with how Brother has their toner program set up. Between the high cost and the disappointing lifespan, it feels like customers are locked into an expensive replacement cycle that doesn’t match the advertised performance. I’ve generally trusted Brother products, but this experience has definitely made me reconsider future purchases.
