SmallRig NP-FZ100 Overview

The NP-FZ100 Kit with 2 Batteries and 2-Bay USB Charger from SmallRig features a charger with an integrated USB-A cable, so you can connect directly to standard USB wall-plug power adapters. It also has a USB-C input port, so you can connect a power bank or other power option using an optional USB-C cable.

Each NP-FZ100 type lithium-ion battery has a 2040mAh capacity, and the dual-bay charger can simultaneous charge them both. The charger displays charge status, voltage, and current on its LCD screen.

How long does it take to charge a completely discharged battery? And does the charging time change if both batteries are chargin

The SmallRig NP-FZ100 Kit with 2 Batteries and 2-Bay USB Charger takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to charge both batteries when using a USB brick rated for 5v and 10 watts of more. The charging time is the same whether charging 1 or 2 batteries.

After firmware update 2.01 for the Sony A7RV Mirrorless camera, all third-party batteries will still deliver power to the camera, but the battery percentage won't be displayed. Therefore, the Sony A7RV Mirrorless camera will not show the battery percentage of the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Batteries.

When using the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery and Charger Kit with the Sony a7R V, you will get a warning message--while a battery percentage might be shown, it is not likely to be consistent when using a non-Sony battery.

Is this version fully compatible with the latest A7S III 3.1 update? Prior Smallrig batteries are not.

I contacted SmallRig concerning your inquiry about the batteries in the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery and Charger Kit. According to the manufacturer, yes, the 3824B batteries in the SmallRig NP-FZ100 Camera Battery and Charger Kit should be compatible for use with the Sony Alpha a7S III Mirrorless Digital Camera and its current firmware update.
