This Schoeps CMIT RAD-1 Set combines a CMIT 5 shotgun microphone (blue) with a Radius RAD-1 shockmount and a 3-Pin XLR jumper cable (9"). RAD-1 is ideal for indoor use or outdoors with no wind, when using the mic by itself or the mic with only a foam windscreen.
Sized between the short MiniCMIT and the long SuperCMIT, the CMIT 5 shotgun microphone is an excellent, all-around boom mic for indoor and outdoor applications. Highly regarded for film, TV, and location recording, the CMIT 5 offers customizable tone and predictable directionality, even when rotated.
Three selectable filters let you manage boom noise, proximity effect, and high-frequency emphasis, to ensure balanced, professional audio quality. Special construction and filtering effectively inhibit interference from various sources such as radio, TV, and cellular frequencies.
The CMIT 5's supercardioid/lobar polar pattern yields directional characteristics that smoothly increase at higher frequencies while providing low off-axis coloration for natural sound at all angles. With low self-noise, moderate sensitivity, and high SPL handling, the CMIT 5 delivers sonic performance deserving of premium mic preamps.
- The RAD-1 suspension shockmount provides exceptional isolation from movement, handling noise, and other vibrations associated with booming. The mount has soft-coated universal mic clips to fit any mic 19 to 25mm in diameter.
- It includes a pair of standard firmer hoops (black) and a pair of softer hoops (light blue)—so you can get the best isolation for your style of booming.
- The base of this mount comes with a 360° rotatable XLR holder and 3/8" thread for use on a boompole, stand, or with quick-connect attachments. All of the components are produced using virtually indestructible thermoplastic elastomers. The RAD shockmounts are made in England.
Pairs of LEDs next to each push button indicate the status of the filters. Even in darkness, the user can read the settings and see that the microphone is operational. The settings are retained when the microphone is switched off.
