The portion of the lens cover that goes around the lens foot uses sewn/glued elastic bands to secure the foam cover around the cutout for the lens foot. This is a distinct change to the older LensCoat lens covers I've purchased, which would have a cutout in the foam for the tripod foot. One can only assume this is a cost cutting measure - but it needlessly introduces 4 extra points of failure in an otherwise flawless design. An older LensCoat cover I purchased for the 200-600mm doesn't have this elastic design, and has the neoprene foam wrapping around in a single solid piece - so I don't understand the change to this vastly inferior and lacking design. The LensCoat cover for the Sony 70-200mm GM ii suffers from the same issue with the elastic bands - unfortunately, I purchased one and it immediately broke at the seams of the elastic band upon taking it out of the bag.
