The TetherGuard LeverLock Is Pretty Solid. Five Stars. It’s The Cable That Comes With The Kit. I’m Not Sure If It Was A Bad One But It Broke On A Fourth Shoot, Tethered To An IPad, A Few Days Ago. I’ve Had It Since The Last Week Of October. Didn’t Last A Month. The Cable Looked Solid And It Seems To Be Promoted By A Lot Of Photographers Online. Did Not Feel Confident Using It.

“I had to replace the T-shaped connector with a straight cable because when I connected it, it stopped working. I had already read reviews about this issue, so my recommendation is to buy the straight cable and not take any risks. B&H exchanged it the same day I bought it, and it worked perfectly!

How do you mount a plate for a tripod using this?

The Tether Tools TetherGuard LeverLock Plate is Arca-Type Compatible. So you have to replace the Quick Release (QR) plate of a compatible tripod with this plate. Alternatively, since the plate has a 1/4" 20 at the bottom, you can screw it on the tripod's QR plate.
