I liked the flash initially but experienced after a couple outings that the base of the flash became partially detached where the mounting bracket attaches to the camera body. I kept expecting the flash to fall off. I returned the flash to B&H for a refund. B&H was terrific in issuing the refund. I also experienced a lack of consistency in the flash going off using TTL metering. I am not certain why but I could not depend on the flash firing every time. I wanted to like the unit but but lost confidence in it.
I've used Godox flashes until now and been really disappointed in the performance and longevity. I decided to give this flash a try. It never misfired, had inconsistent exposure results, or overheated (didn't even become slightly warm). The menu may not be the friendliest - I did have to look up the manual online because it does not come with one to figure out how to turn off the beep. I skipped updating the firmware since it was brand new, but shouldn't have. I did keep having an incompatibility message appear, although it worked flawlessly.
