One of the speedlight's unique features is its multi-brand TTL compatibility. The flash is compatible with Sony, Canon, Nikon, FUJIFILM, Panasonic Lumix, and Olympus cameras, and with its integrated 2.4 GHz transceiver, you can use the FJ80 II on-camera as both a flash and transmitter. You can control FJ400 and FJ200 strobes, FJ-XR receivers, off-camera FJ80-series speedlights, and Canon RT devices directly from the hot shoe. Additionally, when mounted off-camera, the FJ80 II acts as a client speedlight, and lets you trigger via an on-camera mounted FJ80, FJ-X2m or FJ-X3 Wireless Trigger, or Canon RT system transmitter. The FJ80 II also offers enhanced wireless communication in high-interference locations like events and weddings.

I just killed my old Canon 580EXii. Did some research and decided to get the FJ80 II M. It had a small learning curve from my old flash, but I was able to figure it out real quick. Love the control display.

Can the FJ80 II M with Sony adapter be used on other brands of camera (OLYMPUS, Canon etc.) simply by not using the adapter.

Yes, the Westcott FJ80 II M Universal Touchscreen 80Ws Speedlight with Adapter for Sony Cameras is compatible with Sony when the Sony adapter is used. When the adapter is removed this speedlight works with Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, and Olympus in Manual, TTL, and HSS.

The FJ80 II Battery can be charged with either the dedicated charger or directly to the battery via USB-C. In August 2025, the USB-C option for direct charging was made available.

No, the Westcott FJ80 II M Universal Touchscreen 80Ws Speedlight (2024) can only be triggered wirelessly with the Westcott FJ-X3 M Universal Wireless Flash Trigger. The Westcott FJ-X3 M Universal Wireless Flash Trigger can be triggered via 3.5mm to PC Sync cable much like the Impact Sync Cord Male Mini (3.5mm) to Male PC (1')

While the Westcott FJ80 II M Universal Touchscreen 80Ws Speedlight (2024) is not listed as compatible with Leica cameras it will most likely fire in manual mode. No support for TTL or HSS.

There is no locking mechanism for the Westcott FJ80 II M Touchscreen 80Ws Speedlight, but there is a warning in the owner manual: "Do not force-adjust or add excessive weight to the speedlight head."
