Impact Grip Arm 20" Overview

An integral tool for studio productions, the 20" Grip Arm from Impact securely holds light fixtures, modifiers, and grip gear. Durably constructed with a 22 lb load capacity and an ergonomic T-handle for maximum torque, this metal arm consists of a 2.5" grip head mounted onto the end of a 20" long shaft designed to support moderately heavy gear. This arm is ideal for rigging hair lights or accent lights directly above the camera lens.

The included hexagonal 2.5" grip head features industry-standard hole sizes to fit a variety of accessories. The versatile grip head has a 5/8" hole for baby pin accessories, a 3/8" hole for gobos, and a 1/8" hole for thin wire rigging. The end hex pin keeps accessories, lights, and light modifiers from twisting out of position.

This is my first Impact 20 ̈w/grip head. Love the size of the Grip head handle and the all kit is build to last.

This Impact 20 Grip Arm is a seriously solid addition to any grip setup. I’ve been using it primarily to extend small lights or flags out from a heavy-duty stand, and when paired with the Impact 2.5 grip head, it instantly transforms a standard light stand into a kind of makeshift C-stand. That’s incredibly useful when you don’t want to haul extra gear but still need flexibility and stability. One detail I really appreciate is the grip arm’s rounded T-handle knobs. They’re easy on the hands and give you a lot of torque, so you can lock everything down tightly without fighting with the gear. The built-in hex pin on the end of the arm is another smart feature. It keeps lights and accessories from spinning or shifting unexpectedly. This adds peace of mind when attaching something like a light on the end to the arm. The construction feels strong and balanced, and the length is good for tight spaces while still having enough length for most overhead or side-rigging needs. This is one of those grip tools that quietly solves a bunch of problems, and it’s earned a permanent spot in my kit. It's built well, and well designed.
