Adapter ring got stuck on NC filter

I purchased adapter ring to utilize old 67mm poralizer filter. I ordered it together with new nikon z 50mm f1.8 and nikon 62mm filter. I put adapter over NC filter without putting excessive force. Tried it with the polarizer filter, then when trying to remove the adapter, to my surprise it got stuck. I tried everything from rubber bands, rubber gloves, duct tape and other tools, but nothing worked. Now I got a brand new filter that is mated with the adapter for life and not how I intended it to use. I ordered B+W for its brand reputation, but ended bad. Now I cannot even get refund from B&H as the product needs to be separated before I return it.
