Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. Grade 1/4 filters provide more contrast and highlight reduction than Grade 1/8, but less than Grade 1/2 filters while still providing a soft, pastel-like quality of light.
