AstrHori XH-2 Reviews

Poor Quality, No Warranty Support

The first time I used the meter, the selector wheel fell off. Fortunately, I had it in my shirt pocket and fixed it with a micro Phillips screwdriver. After the second use, the button stopped working.   The unit still powers on when connected to a charger, but the button no longer activates the meter.  Unfortunately, I’m past B&H’s 30-day return period, and the manufacturer refuses to honor their one-year warranty because it wasn’t purchased directly from the AstroHori / 7Artisans website. Needless to say, this will be the last product I will ever buy from AstroHori or 7Artisans.

Reliable, and tiny -- great for film SLRs

I bought this for a classic SLR whose meter has failed and cannot be repaired. Heard some good reviews about the 1st version. This is really a nice piece of tech in a very small, well built (all metoal, no plastic) package. I tested this out against the in camera metering in a few Nikon Z cameras, and they are usually spot on. The XH-2 was as well, zero deviation. The orientation vs the AH-2 might not be for everyone -- they changed this up, but it didn't bother me, as I wear glasses, use eyepieces designed for glasses on my SLRs, DSLRs, and MILCs. Those that don't, and need to have their eyeball right up to the eyepiece to view the EVF...may find the AH-2 a better option.
