Recording on SSD
Does this camera have support for SSD recording?
More important question is will it support RAW to HDMI, or be eligible for the same Nikon upgrade as the Z6/Z6ii/z7/z7ii where it can be added after the fact. While the Atomos units can record to SSD, it's restricted being able to get RAW from HDMI on the z8/z9 on the Nikon side and the question remains on which side of that fence the z6iii is going to fall on. The z6iii at this point Atomos only shows as being compatible with the Shinobi II which is a monitor and not a recorder.

Considering upgrading my ols Z50 to the new Z6iii. Must I use two video cards or can I get by with the SD card only?
You can get by with just one memory card in the Nikon Z6 III Mirrorless Camera with 24-70mm f/4 S Lens. A second memory card is usually used for backup, similar to how you would backup your computer hard drive at home, but using only one memory card is fine. One reason to use the faster CFExpress type B card is if you are recording video in raw. For everything else, SD cards are fast enough. Just make sure they are a V90 SD card if you want to take fast images one after another. The SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO UHS-II SDXC Memory Card would be an example of this type of card: https://bhpho.to/2LikPIN.
