Remotely managed automated drone flights are now easier to achieve with the DJI Dock 2. This system is only compatible with the Matrice 3D or 3TD drone, housing it on location in a rugged base station that can handle the outdoor elements. Setup is now easier, as Dock 2 requires only two people to deploy and is 75% smaller and 68% lighter than the previous model. The Matrice can even help with deployment by letting you use its vision sensors to find the spot with the strongest GNSS reception. Takeoff, landing, and charging are all automatic, letting operators manage and view everything remotely, using a DJI FlightHub 2 and a variety of cloud-based features.

What license do you need to be able to utilize ...
What license do you need to be able to utilize this and operate a drone without it being line of sight?
Currently the FAA requires special approval for any Beyond Visual Line of Sight, or BVLOS, drone operations. FAA approval would be required to operate the DJI Dock 2 in a BVLOS manner. We recommend always checking with the FAA or your local regulatory authorities for the most up to date rules and regulations.
