Great On-The-Go Charging Hub

I bought this to help solve a few problems, as most people probably are. We're all looking for one charger to do it all so that we can cut down on cables and power bricks that we need to carry. So far it's done a great job at doing that. However, I'm not looking to just replace my phone and laptop charger, although this has been great at that so far, I'm looking to also replace bulky v-mount chargers and camera chargers too. So far it's been great to bring this along to film sets and have it as a small, portable charging hub. It's capable of 140W charging on each USB-C port (unless you hit the total 240 TPD of the device, then it will throttle down below 140), and that allows me to have several V-Mount batteries and NP-F batteries charging off of it. I've been able to use it to keep laptops, iPads, phones, and camera equipment charged with this, and it has helped me to severely cut down on overall gear size and weight. With all that being said, there's a few things to note. Firstly, this brick is decently bigger and heavier than I expected it to be. The product listing and reviews on other platforms make it seem comparable to a MacBook Pro charger, but it's not, it's about 1/3rd bigger and twice as heavy. If your desire is to get more outputs out of a laptop charger, this product might not be for you. However, if your desire, like mine, is to reduce the size of large battery chargers for camera equipment, and then also double it as a laptop charger, this is exactly what you're looking for. If you just want a better laptop charger, I would consider something smaller from Anker or Ugreen. But for charging large V-Mounts like the SmallRig 212, this is a great companion piece for that. The second thing to note is that it requires a 3-pin (mickey) AC cable to connect it. There's pros and cons to this (for me it's a neutral point), but thought I would mention it since it seems like most people are unaware of that fact. The type of cable is show at the end of their product photos. The only concern that I have is current/charge protection. I know SmallRig has claimed that this does have great protection built in, but I've personally had some mixed experiences with their batteries, so I'm not 100% confident about their claims for that on such a small device. I'm use using large V-Mount chargers that have great overcharge and power surge protection, which gives me confidence to leave my batteries attached to the chargers overnight. I'm hesitant to do that with this. But my intended purpose for this is more for quick charging while traveling or on a remote set, so prolonged charging isn't something I plan to use this for. To be clear, I haven't had any issues with this product yet. But I wouldn't trust my high-end batteries to be left connected to it for prolonged/extended periods of time. To Summarize, this is great for run and gun sets where you're constantly using equipment that can be charged via USB; however, it might not be the best if you're only looking to get more out of a laptop charging brick. Thank you SmallRig for always trying to innovate and make professional equipment more available at a consumer price! Love your products, and I'm glad to see battery tech finally getting some overdue upgrades!

Purchased to streamline my charging station for various batteries and devices. But I find myself using this on shoots for the same reasons. Anything to simplify.
