FiiO K11 R2R Overview

Get the most out of your audiophile headphones and audio content with the K11 R2R from FiiO, a desktop DAC and headphone amp with fully differential 24-bit R2R resistor arrays and up to 1300mW of output per channel into 32 ohms. Sporting up to 384 kHz upsampling via OS mode, you can experience a refined sound with any audio content.

The FiiO K11 R2R supports 24-bit (32 bit with USB) / 384 kHz decoding for PCM files and up to DSD256 for compatible DSD files. The DAC features plenty of high-quality chips for maximizing sonic performance, including Ti OPA1642 and SGM8262 op-amps, an SA9312L USB controller, a CS43198 DAC chip, and the NJW1195A 4-channel volume controller for the main control knob. Three selectable gain levels and volume curves ensure optimal compatibility with any audio content. The unit sports a crystal-clear high-contrast LCD display for easy operation, as well as RGB logo lighting for a stylish look. Connections include optical TOSLINK and coaxial RCA digital inputs/outputs, RCA line outputs, USB-C for maximum digital audio quality, and separate balanced 4.4mm and unbalanced 1/4" headphone outs. The K11 R2R includes an external power adapter with power cable, a USB-C to USB-A data cable, and a 3.5mm to 1/4" TRS plug adapter.

Fully Differential 24-Bit R2R DAC Resistor Arrays
FiiO's newly self-developed four-channel fully differential 24-bit R2R DAC consists of 96 precision thin-film resistor arrays per channel, totaling 192 resistors with 0.1% tolerance and low temperature drift (30ppm). This configuration delivers a unique and charming sound.
Double the Fun with Dual NOS/OS Modes
NOS (non-oversampling) mode: maintains the original sampling rate for decoding, preserving an authentic sound and providing an organic and captivating musical experience

OS (oversampling) mode upsamples globally to a high sampling rate of 384 kHz, for superior audio performance and an even more refined and clear sound

True 24-Bit Decoding
Support for 24-bit / 384 kHz PCM and DSD256 decoding means the K11 R2R can easily handle high-precision audio signals and fully exhibit the details within, providing a audiophile-level listening experience.
High-Quality Electronic Volume Control
The NJW1195A is a four-channel electronic volume controller. This resistor ladder electronic potentiometer sports low distortion and noise, allowing for precise volume adjustment.
3 Gain Levels and 3 Independent Volume Curves
The three independent gain levels and volume curves allow the K11 R2R to provide better performance with various types of headphones. Whether you are using sensitive earphones or harder-to-drive over-ear headphones, you can find an ideal gain level and curve for an optimal listening experience.
Specially Designed Audio Circuit
The audio signal is transmitted via a USB interface processor to a digital audio bridge. After being processed by an FPGA, it is sent to the R2R DAC for 4-channel output after decoding. Then, it passes through two Ti OPA1642 op-amps for low-pass filtering and single-ended analog signal conversion.

The output stage uses two SGM8262 op-amps for 4-way phase inversion and amplification, resulting in outputs of single-ended and balanced analog signals. The audio circuit features specially designed headphone protection circuity and a pop-noise elimination system.

Specially Designed Power Supply
The K11 R2R uses up to 17 low-noise LDO precision regulator ICs and 2 DC-DC converters, providing multichannel power supply of -9, 8, ±7.5, ±6, 5.4, 3.3, 1.8, and 1.2V. These are combined with an external custom 12V switching power supply to ensure the purity of the power being supplied to the DAC and to provide a solid foundation for stronger power output.
High-Quality Beryl Solid Capacitors
The capacitors' ultralow ESR, combined with excellent anti-interference characteristics, allow them to provide a stable and clean power supply and thus achieve high-quality sound.
Hear Every Last Detail
Under a 32-ohm load, the K11 R2R is capable of pushing 1300mW per channel under balanced modes. This allows it to easily drive many high-fidelity audiophile headphones and earphones to fully unlock their potential.
One Source of Total Control
The K11 R2R's multifunctional volume knob is used to power the device on and off—for menu operation, for volume adjustment, and for other functions. The knob is designed so that you can quickly execute various complex actions by simply pressing and turning the knob. You can also quickly switch between output modes by double-pressing the knob, making it easier to connect to to different audio setups.
Adjustable RGB Logo Lighting
The FiiO logo is illuminated with RGB lighting, giving you a quick way to identify the sampling rate of the current audio being played back. Six LED strips work in conjunction with carefully placed reflective film and parts of the body designed to reflect light to make the light show uniform and elegant.
Durable Design Features
  • Specialized RCA metal pressing for enhanced stability, reliable connections, and durability
  • Thermal silicone gel and aluminum alloy heat sink for fast heat dissipation
  • Phosphor copper metal shielding for corrosion resistance and anti-oxidative qualities
  • Shielding resists external interference to accurately process signals
  • DC protection to avoid headphone damage
  • Smart power saving automatically enters low-power mode when no audio is detected for a long time

FiiO K11 R2R Reviews

You aren't beating it for the money

I got this when my prior DAC/Amp combo was a tragic victim of a faulty surge protector. It sounds so good! The R2R is not an analytical DAC but it brings warmth and smooths out the edges like a tube amp. It drives all of my headphones and IEMs amazingly well. It's small and unobtrusive and the user interface is really easy to use intuitively. I couldn't be happier and I've already recommended it multiple times.

A very nice sounding DAC

I have been using a Universal Audio Volt 2 as the music playback DAC from my computer to my stereo system for a few months. After hearing positive comments about FiiO K11 R2R DAC from reviewers I trust, I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with the result. It delivers a modest but noticeable improvement. To my ears the K11 R2R offers up a slightly wider and deeper sound stage with more air and clarity. Bass is a little smoother and richer. I think it offers good bang for the buck.

Using the USB-C input: does it contain the necessary noise canceling filters or would I have to purchase a separate noise canceling DDC?
Asked by: Harold
The FiiO K11 R2R Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier (Black) does not feature noise-canceling filters through its USB-C port. If you want that feature, a separate DDC will be required.

Fiio K11 R2R vs regular K11, which one keeps frequency signals intact?
Asked by: Tommy
According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the FiiO K11 R2R Desktop DAC and Headphone Amplifier (Silver) is a true 24-bit DAC that allows for NOS (no oversampling) and OS (oversampling) modes. The NOS mode maintains the original sampling rate for decoding, which preserves an authentic sound and allows you to enjoy an organic and captivating musical experience. Alternatively, OS mode up-samples globally to a high sampling rate of 384kHz for superior audio performance and an even more refined, clear sound. The standard K11 model does not offer these modes.
