Is the front of the lens threaded for attaching 49mm filters, or is an adapter necessary?
Yes, you can mount any 49mm filters to the front of the Q3 43 lens without an adapter. Please note, though, that when using a filter, the supplied rectangular lens hood will not fit properly. If you decide to use a filter (UV etc), the recommended hoods would be the round aluminum hoods from Leica. These come in black Leica cat # 19657, silver # 19658 or brass # 19659 colors.
