SmallRig 4349 Overview

Designed for select Sony, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Canon, and Panasonic mirrorless cameras, this Horizontal-to-Vertical Mount Plate Kit from SmallRig quickly switches your camera between landscape and portrait orientations without adjusting the optical axis of the lens. The kit can support loads weighing up to 6.6 lb.

The kit gives full access to the camera's display, buttons, and ports and is compatible with Arca-type receivers. Operation is simple, and the lens collar mount plate rotates 90° by merely unlocking a knob, allowing you to switch between horizontal and vertical shooting. Additionally, the unit features multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for additional plates and rig mounts.

NOTE: Horizontal shooting may interfere with the use of the aperture ring and AF/MF buttons on the lens.

Not really ArcaSwiss

Does not work with the 3 Legged Thing Ellie or Roxie L Brackets , Sunwayfoto SP-70QB, Sunwayfoto SP-38QB, or my ReallyRightStuff L Brackets. Sad to say the Acra-Swiss isn't to standards.

Decent but not great

I was cautiously optimistic about this product but I'm sadly not fan. I have a Canon R5 and I like the fact that this doesn't interfere with my tether connection or the ability of the screen to flip out unimpeded. However, there are too many other failings that will have me returning this. The rig will only accept its own quickrelease plate, not the one I favor from Tethertools that keeps my tether cable in place. Also, the overall stability of the product is very wobbly with a lot of play in the connections. It certainly struggles with the R5 and a 24-70 L lens. Rotating it is not a smooth operation, at least with my setup.
