will this work with the nikon z7ii?
Asked by: Osmar
The Nikon MC-DC3 Remote Release Cord is not compatible with the Nikon Z7 II Mirrorless Camera. The Z7 II uses the MC-DC2 Remote Cord, which connects via Nikon's accessory terminal. The MC-DC3 was introduced for newer cameras that support remote triggering through a 3.5 mm headphone/remote jack, such as the Z5 II and Z50 II, not the Z7 II. For the Nikon Z7 II, compatible remote options include the Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord, the Nikon ML-L7 Bluetooth Remote Control, and the Nikon WR-R11b Remote Controller: https://bit.ly/4vOnWrZ.

According to Nikon, the two-stage shutter release button on the Nikon MC-DC3 Remote Release Cord functions in the same way as the shutter release button on Nikon cameras. A half-press activates AE/AF, and a full press triggers the shutter.
