Recently purchased this for a trip to Hawaii, and have been very happy with it. Sturdy build quality, compact size, with fluid rolling and easy to use TSA locks.

Hardcore Luxury- Bombproof yet smooth! w/some caveats

Pros: Built very well with high quality components. Lifetime warranty and individually replaceable components. Waterproof and dustproof- extremely rugged. Competitively priced when considering luxury options especially if you can get one on sale- I got mine for 25% off. Zipper less construction (because zippers always fail) with excellent e-coated latches. Cons: Heavier than most. If you are traveling internationally or cant lift a lot of weight then this case may not be for you. I am a guy in me 30s who considers myself in good shape and I can definitely notice the weight. Lack of volume/space- As everyone has mentioned this already and I wanted to reiterate that the useable space in this case is pretty small. If you are not a minimalist and go on 4+ day trips that I would recommend you look for a different case- you may be disappointed. I highly recommend the use of compression packing cubes for use with this case. Lastly, the high price. I do feel like if you are buying this for full retail price it is a bit overpriced but as I mentioned before look for a sale.

how are there no dividers, is the gear just sitting loose? what prevents lenses and bodies from banging into each other?

Ah that's such a shame! All this protection would have been awesome for camera gear but dust/leak/dmg proof....for clothes i guess lol

The carry-ons weigh as much as the weight limit of most airlines. So we buy the luggage but can't add anything in it?

The carry-on weight limit will vary depending on the airline. The Pelican ATX Hardsided Carry-On Roller Case (Black, 22") weighs 12.8 lb, which should be plenty of weight left for packing on most domestic flights.

Is there a sleeve for a 16” MacBook Pro or similar sized laptop?

The Pelican ATX Hardsided Carry-On Roller Case (Black, 22") does not feature a specific sleeve to protect laptops, but there should be a good place to put it using the zippered pouches in the lid.
