Functional but barely
This device was either designed by somebody medium stupid or was previously unaware of the general concepts of iPads. If you attach the suggested handles to the left side, it continually presses down on the home button. Like it’s always being pressed. You can swipe up and dismiss it, but you can’t use that button and if you’re using an app that registers whether or not that’s being pressed constantly that might cause you an issue. If you put a handle on the right side, it blocks the USB-C port. If you mount something to the back like a battery adapter, the kickstand wants to tip over. If you put anything in the cold shoes it tipps over. If there were any other options I’d return this and buy that. There doesn’t seem to be some I guess I’m stuck with this.
Significant flaw
This has multiple significant flaws, at least when used with the iPad Mini 6. First, when you close this cage, it depresses all the buttons on the top, rendering them all unusable while the cage is closed - to adjust volume or use the power button you need to open up the cage. Second, the cutout for the USB-C port is small, and many USB-C cables will not fit securely or at all in it. I returned one of these to see if it was just a faulty unit but the 2nd unit had the same exact issues.
