Good, but with some caveats

I’m deciding between the Desview Blade 5 Pro and FEELWORLD P6XL 6", so I picked up both to test. These are just my immediate impressions, as I haven’t used either extensively yet. The Desview Blade 5 Pro is about the size of an iPhone and easily slides into most small pockets. It’s incredibly compact, although it does feel a little daintier and potentially more fragile. It uses Sony-style batteries, and I picked up the smallest SmallRig USB-C rechargeable batteries for $44 each. One minor annoyance is that the battery doesn’t sit completely flush with the top of the monitor. The sunhood, however, is brilliant. It folds completely flat and attaches magnetically, which is an excellent design. The 5.5" OLED display is also crystal clear and looks fantastic-even better than the Feelworld. Battery life is supposedly around three hours with the small batteries. The FEELWORLD P6XL is noticeably larger at 6" and is slightly brighter at 1,200 nits versus the Desview's 1,000 nits. It uses an internal battery, which I really like for travel. I’m guessing it gets roughly 2–2.5 hours of battery life. The biggest downside is the sunhood. It requires a separate mount that clips onto the monitor, and the included folding sunhood feels much cheaper than the Desview’s. It works, but the Desview's solution is clearly better designed and better quality. And the clip adds a very slight thickness to it. For my trip, I’m going with the FEELWORLD. Despite being larger, it’s roughly the same weight, gives me a slightly larger screen, eliminates the need to carry separate batteries, and still has plenty of brightness. For traveling and shooting car videos, I think the larger screen and simpler battery setup will ultimately be more useful. I’ll update this after I’ve actually used it in the field and see if anything changes my mind.
