Bring your acoustic playing setup into the future with the AAD100E from Ibanez, a 6-string acoustic/electric guitar with a solid sitka spruce top and okoume back and sides. A part of the Advanced Acoustic series, this guitar sports the larger-than-average grand dreadnought body design for a richer tone, wider dynamics, and louder volume.
The neck is made from proprietary thermo-aged nyatoh and features Ibanez's custom low oval grip and rounded edge for easier playing and greater resonance. The fretboard is made from ovangkol for excellent playing comfort and offers 20 frets. The bridge is also made from ovangkol and features a scalloped design for better resonance and flexibility. The AAD100E sports the highly responsive AP11 magnetic pickup, along with Ibanez custom electronics for the preamp, providing volume and tone control for shaping your electric sound. This guitar includes a hex wrench and a bridge pin (9V battery not included).
Proportionally, the grand dreadnought body is 5% larger than a standard dreadnought, allowing for more volume, richer tone, and more powerful low-end response. It's also extremely comfortable to play thanks to the extensive consideration given to its ergonomics.
The sound is transparent and reflects the guitar’s natural acoustic tone while preserving presence and midrange. The AP11 works well with effects such as reverb, chorus, and many others. The guitar also features onboard tone and volume control, making it suitable for a variety of applications for modern players.
A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay put.
