Ibanez AAD100E Overview

Bring your acoustic playing setup into the future with the AAD100E from Ibanez, a 6-string acoustic/electric guitar with a solid sitka spruce top and okoume back and sides. A part of the Advanced Acoustic series, this guitar sports the larger-than-average grand dreadnought body design for a richer tone, wider dynamics, and louder volume.

The neck is made from proprietary thermo-aged nyatoh and features Ibanez's custom low oval grip and rounded edge for easier playing and greater resonance. The fretboard is made from ovangkol for excellent playing comfort and offers 20 frets. The bridge is also made from ovangkol and features a scalloped design for better resonance and flexibility. The AAD100E sports the highly responsive AP11 magnetic pickup, along with Ibanez custom electronics for the preamp, providing volume and tone control for shaping your electric sound. This guitar includes a hex wrench and a bridge pin (9V battery not included).

Grand Dreadnought Body
Through a rigorous R&D process spanning several years, Ibanez has reimagined the dreadnought from the ground up, pursuing the height of rich sound, robust low end, and rich tone. This brand new body shape is called the grand dreadnought.

Proportionally, the grand dreadnought body is 5% larger than a standard dreadnought, allowing for more volume, richer tone, and more powerful low-end response. It's also extremely comfortable to play thanks to the extensive consideration given to its ergonomics.

X-M Bracing
Spending a few years of trial and error, Ibanez finally reached to out-of-the-box X-M bracing to generate the ultimate sound standing out on the stage. The carefully designed scalloped X-bracing, along with the allocation of tone braces and finger braces, transmit the string vibration efficiently through the bridge to the body. The X-M bracing creates the clear bottom and crispy treble sound with a trimmed, warm midrange, yet provides wide dynamic range and a highly responsive playing character.
Thermo-Aged Nyatoh Neck with Low Oval Grip
The low oval neck grip is designed for easy chord strumming, and the rounded fretboard edges provide superior playability. Thermo aging, a special drying process, makes the neck light and hard and provides stability with better resonance.
AP11 Pickup and Ibanez Custom Electronics
The AP11 pickup is small, lightweight, and positioned, so it won’t inhibit the natural vibrations of the top wood. The pickup generates a highly responsive sound with minimal feedback and delivers a lively response throughout the entire frequency range.

The sound is transparent and reflects the guitar’s natural acoustic tone while preserving presence and midrange. The AP11 works well with effects such as reverb, chorus, and many others. The guitar also features onboard tone and volume control, making it suitable for a variety of applications for modern players.

Functional Tapered Headstock
The newly designed headstock shape is the result of thorough research and investigation. Its tapered shape provides lighter weight and straight string alignment, which enhances tuning stability and reduces neck twisting.
Ibanez Advantage Bridge Pins
The Ibanez advantage bridge pins really are an advantage over old-fashioned pins. Advantage pins are easier to take out and put in than standard pins.

A special bulb-shaped end makes the pin easy to grip and prevents the pin from being pushed in too far. Best of all, with Advantage, the pin and string stay put.
