It provides a noise-reduction rating of 21 dB, making it suitable for isolation in moderately noisy environments. A soft moleskin-covered headband provides comfort, and the headset folds as well for ease of transport and storage. Its dynamic boom microphone offers a frequency response of 150 Hz to 8 kHz, more than suitable to hear human speech.  

The HR-2R's dynamic microphone offers a frequency response optimized for speech intelligibility, noise cancellation, and simple adjustment on a rotating gooseneck boom mount. The headset features 5' cord and an A5M connector.

Bad earpads

These RTS HR-2 headsets are good but the ear pads are terrible. Opening up the box just before going live with a church service to find ear pads already torn was not fun. Fortunately we were able to scramble and use an older headset ear pad but the replacement ear pads are not inexpensive so what a bummer.

....and with these you get a GREAT headset. This was the second round of headsets I ordered after being displeased with the build quality of another brand that I had previously ordered. These are quality, solid built, headsets and the work perfectly for their intended purpose. I bought them for camera operators to use in a house of worship setting. The dual sided earphones offer ample sound isolation for our camera operators. The room noise level peaks around 90db and the camera operators have no issue hearing the director. Great Buy, will buy more in the future as needed!

What's the difference between the Telex HR-2R5 and Telex HR-2A5 headsets?

The HR-2 headset ships with multiple connection options. The HR-2R5 features a 5-pin male XLR connector. The HR-2A5 features a 5-pin XLR female connector.

Yes, The part #'s are HR-2R5 for male and HR-2A5 for female. You can also go to the telex website and download a catalog that shows all the options they provide for their products.

Can this work with BMD Studio Pro Cameras, are there volume issues as it is with Eartec?

No. The Blackmagic Design Studio Pro Camera has a 5-pin XLR female connector, so the compatible headset will need to have a 5-pin XLR male connector. This Telex HR-2- Dual Sided Headset with Boom Mic has an XLR 4-pin female connector, so it is not compatible for use with the camera.
