This Rotating Side Handle with Trigger REC from SmallRig provides a secure grip for your camera, cage, or rig with 1/4"-20 threads or a NATO rail. This aluminum handle is configured for left-side use and can rotate 360° for optimal positioning using a quick-unlock button. SmallRig Rotating Side Handle with Trigger Overview

This Rotating Side Handle with Trigger REC from SmallRig provides a secure grip for your camera, cage, or rig with 1/4"-20 threads or a NATO rail. This aluminum handle is configured for left-side use and can rotate 360° for optimal positioning using a quick-unlock button. It also includes a 2" NATO rail with two 1/4"-20 screws to mount onto a cage or rig that does not include its own NATO rail. A battery slot in the bottom allows you to power accessories via USB-C PD fast charging with an optional L-series battery.

A record/stop trigger button lets you control the camera REC function. Included with the handle is a USB-C control cable that connects select Canon EOS and Blackmagic Design cameras. The top of the handle features 1/4"-20 threads and a shoe mount for adding a light, microphone, monitor, mounting arm, or other accessories. The handle features a nonslip silicone grip and includes an Allen wrench that can be stored within the handle.

Camera Control Compatibility
The handle can trigger start/stop in the following cameras with the included cable:

  • Canon EOS R3, R5, R5 Mark II, R5C, R6, R6 Mark II, R7, R8, RI0, R, RP, C70
  • Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, 6K, 6K Pro, 6K G2 / Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K FF
Ergonomic Secure Grip
The ergonomic design ensures smooth and effortless camera control and reduces hand fatigue during extended shooting sessions.
Built-In Shutter Control
Featuring a built-in shutter control button, you can easily start and stop recording without touching your camera. A USB-C camera control cable compatible with Blackmagic Design and Canon EOS cameras is included.
One-Click Stepless Rotation
Achieve smooth camera movements at any angle with the one-click stepless 360° rotation feature.
USB-C Power Output
Equipped with a USB-C power output that supports Power Delivery (PD) fast charging, it provides quick and reliable power to other devices. The battery slot on the bottom allows you to install a separately available L-series/NP-F550 or NP-F570 battery.

NOTE: The power output is not suitable to power a Canon or Blackmagic Design camera and is designed only to power smaller accessories under 20W.

Versatile Accessory Mounts
Designed with 1/4"-20 threaded holes, a cold shoe mount, and a wrist strap slot, allowing you to attach accessories like monitors, fill lights, and wrist straps to customize your setup.

Yes, when using the USB-C on the Blackmagic cameras, the SmallRig Rotating Side Handle with Trigger REC for Select Canon & BMD Cameras cannot control two things at once with a splitter; you can either use it for start/stop or for recording.
