SmallRig RC 220 Pro Overview

This bright and portable two light RC 220B Pro Bi-Color LED Monolight Kit from SmallRig is suitable for both still and video productions. The Pro model features a variable color output from 2700 to 6500K for interior, exterior, and mixed light situations. The fixture's updated lens and light source provide the same output as the original RC 200B but with lower power consumption, making it ideal as a key light for film production or commercial photography. Using the included reflector creates an intense beam with smooth falloff, and you can easily adjust the brightness.
Design Updates
The upgraded RC 220B Pro features a new optical lens design offering a 10% decrease in power consumption compared to the previous generation while maintaining the same brightness. It also features an updated lens for high brightness, uniform light distribution, and a high color rendering index of 95+. The updated COB light source provides a consistent color temperature, minimizing color deviation within the effective color temperature range. Its support column also features a damping design to facilitate gradual descent of the light when mounted.
Power Options
The body is designed for efficient operation with a V-mount adapter to power the light for longer periods. It can be powered using an AC adapter, a V-mount battery using the integrated plate, or via an L-series/NP-F970 battery with a separately available adapter.
Control Options
The Pro model supports local and wireless app control, as well as via software control via the SmallRig app, local control, or DMX in professional productions, which can simultaneously control multiple SmallRig lights and achieve extended signal coverage and control distance.
Standard Bowens Mount
The fixture features a standard Bowens mount, so it is fully compatible with a variety of standard Bowens accessories such as softboxes and other light diffusing/shaping tools. The yoke has a built-in receiver for an optional umbrella.
Additional Features
  • Easy to attach or remove lighting accessories with a built-in umbrella hole
  • A built-in display screen on the fixture shows brightness, power remaining, AC power supply connected, wireless frequency, and more
  • Compact and portable, the kit includes two lights, two Bowens mount reflectors, two power adapters and cords, and a carrying case for simple transportation.

Great quality and all you need for a studio light upgrade. Comes with a nice cushioned bag to carry it where you need to. Helps to get everything in when traveling. No noise as suggested by some users that is bothering. Very strong light for studio setup. Not sure what the performance will be in the long use or after multiple travel.

Straight Out From Bag , You Will Love It. Its Super Bright. I Am A Wedding Cinematographer And Always Wanted A Handy Portable Light, Its V Mount Fixture Make It So Easy To Use Outside For Portraits. Its So Bright I Use It To Lit Subject Against Sunlight. Its That Good. I Loved It. All My Team Got The Same Light And Everyone Loved It, Its That Good but... 2 Months In Usage The Connector That Connect Light To V Mount Battery Is Having Issue, Everytime I Move The Light, It Turns Off For Few Seconds, Might Be The Connector Got Loose, Its Happening Too Often Now

How is it that bicolor uses the sane power as daylight yes outputs less light? They consume the same 220 watts.
Asked by: Travis
In the SmallRig RC 220B Pro Bi-Color LED Monolight, the LEDs are divided into 2 pairs. One is set to warm light, and the other is set to white light. This separation is why there is less output on a bi-color LED light versus all the LEDs working together on a single-color temperature light.
